German Men at Arms

Finished up my first unit of Foot Men-at-Arms in my German Retinue for Lion Rampant. They've all been painted up in my German "team" colors, looking similar helps to tie the unit together as well as ground it as part of the larger force, although it would be more likely for them to have been a variety of colors and patterns historically.

I think they look pretty fierce in armor and heraldry.

I chose to try and paint the crest of Saxony on their banner,
though this one has been simplified a bit.

Again a crest that is similar to the
crest of Saxony but tweaked a
little.

Simple heraldry on this one, but
I think the color blocks
are striking.

Probably the meanest looking knight
in the bunch, sure to chop some
shields and anything else he can
reach.

These minis are mostly from the Agincourt range by MiniFigs, lots of detail packed into tiny minis. I may get some more in the future as I enjoyed working on these so much, but Lion Rampant doesn't require many to play the standard 24 point game, although why should I let something like that stop me.

Still thirsty,
Chris
