German Men at Arms and More Foot Serjeants

More painted examples of minis from Alternative Armies, a few Knight with Axe and a Knight with Spear, adding these to the less elite looking Scottish Pikeman I think is a good way to represent Expert Foot Serjeants in games of Lion Rampant. I did a little conversion work on a couple of the axemen, adding a breastplate with hoop skirt to one and couters to the other. A couple of the spearmen have added visors to their bascinets, these done in a klapvisor fashion.

Had fun painting these, tried to take my time and show as
much detail as I could.

I wanted to have some variety in the patterns of their clothes
and shields while maintaining an overall theme.

I also tried to mix alternating colors for leather and
weapons where it was possible.

Painting the spiral on the knight's spear was a bit chalenging
but the end result is worth it I think.

Hopefully my opponent won't get this view of them too
often, never fun to flee the field.

I have a few more of the Scottish Pikeman in the post right now along with some ogres, the ogres won't be taking part in the Hussite battles but these guys may pull double duty in a fantasy setting. The end goal is to have a somewhat uniform looking unit of Foot Serjeants backing up a couple units of Foot Men at Arms and some Bidowers in the form of mercenary Hungarian bowmen, and of course a resplendent looking unit Men at Arms filling the role shining knights on the battlefield.

Still thirsty,
Chris
